Job Eligibility Requirements
While qualifications differ for each position, all Contemporary Security Canada employees hired for the 2010 Winter Games must meet the following general requirements:
- Turn 19 years of age by Nov. 1st, 2009
- Speak and read English fluently (French and additional languages an asset)
- Permitted to work legally in Canada
- Have accommodations in Vancouver or surrounding area during the employment period.
- Enjoy learning new skills, meeting new people, and working within a culturally diverse team and environment
- Prepared to commit for either the month of February or January–March, 2010.
- Attend 24 - 64 hours of paid training between Sept. 2009 and Jan. 2010.
- Security staff will be required to undergo a police criminal background check including fingerprint collection.
All candidates must be able to meet the minimum physical requirements listed below:
- Standing for long periods of time (up to 4 consecutive hours without a break)
- Bending at the waist (up to 30%)
- Squatting (up to 30%)
- Lift up to 25lbs
- Repetitive wrist and hand motion (up to 80%)
- Willing to work in cold and wintery conditions (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Grasping
ID Requirements
Canadian citizens please bring Government issued photo identification, and proof of citizenship in the form of a valid Canadian Passport, birth certificate or Citizenship Certification Card when you visit the Hiring Centre.
Non-Canadian citizens are required to bring in their Passport and proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
All individuals will need to know or bring their SIN number.
